The Las Vegas Raiders are now in need of a new head coach for the 2024 NFL season. Luckily, there are plenty of options out there that all may be better than Josh McDaniels. They also may be looking at a new quarterback change in Week 9.
Well, one Raiders' insider is getting intel that that may be the case.
According to Vinny Bonsignore of Vegas Nation at the LV Review-Journal, his sources are telling him that the Raiders may be leaning towards Aidan O'Connell on Sunday against the New York Giants instead of healthy Jimmy Garoppolo.
This is shocking, to say the least, but maybe shocking in a world where Josh McDaniels is the head coach. The fans and the team love Aidan O'Connell, as the rookie has flashed whenever he has been given the opportunity.
Last week, despite only throwing one interception, was one of the worst games we have ever seen Jimmy Garoppolo play. He missed Davante Adams twice on a deep ball, both would have been touchdowns, and he also had terrible pocket awareness, not to mention a few other wide-open receivers and tight ends missed.
This offense is broken, so now, the Raiders may just be trying to do anything and everything to fix what they did. When O'Connell did play, he showed some flaws, as any rookie did, but he looked great in the fourth quarter as he almost tied the game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4.
