This offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders made a huge move to try and improve a secondary that is one of the worst units in the league. They needed help badly.

So, they brought in former All-pro cornerback Marcus Peters several different times for a tryout and workout session. Finally, they signed him just before training camp was in full swing.

Peters, an Oakland native, grew up a Raiders fan. His family are die-hard Raiders fans, so much so that his dad has never worn any of his jerseys until now.

While that made news, one thing Peters said recently will stick with Raiders fans. One thing he said let everyone know that this guy was the right guy to bring in.

"I was always a Raider," he said to the media. "This is something that has been in me since I was a little kid."

I don't know what does if that doesn't scream Raider nation.

Peters is so much of a Raiders fan that he was in awe and shock that he would get to wear his childhood idol's number in silver and black.

"He used to be out in our Oakland streets," Peters said about Charles Woodson. "And my pops would be used to tell me stories about [Woodson] chilling and hanging out, and that's big. It's just a blessing to be able to rock a number he wore. I don't have too many words for it, but it's a blessing."

The Raiders have a history of great cornerbacks. However, Peters has a lot to live up to if he is going to wear that number.
