Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby reveals exactly what the team is looking for in a HC and it may eliminate Pete Carroll from the job

As a beat writer and reporter covering the Las Vegas Raiders, I have to remain unbiased, as do I when I cover any team or any game. That's part of journalism. But, there are certain players you just root for — players that you just want to see win because you know how much it means to them, you know how hard they work, and you know that they deserve it.
It's safe to say that one of those guys league-wide is Maxx Crosby, a guy that everyone, outside of rivals of the Raiders, wants to see have some success. He's a menace on the field and no one outworks him. And, as sad as it is, sometimes it could feel like his prime is being wasted.
Raiders know what they're looking for in a head coach
It's really important for guys like Crosby to get paired with the right coach, and for that head coach to bring in the right staff and coordinators for him. Most importantly, a guy like Crosby, and the entire organization, needs some continuity.\
"Everyone is trying to win," Crosby said on Sirius XM. "The path is not changing, everyone wants to win, and it's no secret. But it's about stability, so whoever that guy is going to be, I know that's someone they want that's going to be here for the long haul. That can build a real culture and build something that can be sustained for a long time. That's what it looks like for me. I've had a lot of turnover.
"I have had a lot of different D-line coaches, and a lot of different defensive coordinators. I have seen a lot in the league. That's all that really matters is winning, having a chance to win, being in these types of games at the end of the year, and getting a gold jacket, that's all that matters to me."
If one of the biggest things the Raiders are looking for in a head coach is a guy who is looking to stay around for the long haul, that could be eliminating Pete Carroll from the HC conversation. Respectfully, Carroll is 73 years old. Sure, he's a young 73 by the way he moves and such — throwing the ball around at practice, but he's up there in age.
That's not a guy you hire when you're trying to build something from nothing, something that will take three to four years if not more, to see fully develop into what they want it to be. This sounds like a guy who is young and coming up in the league, like a Liam Coen, the offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who hasn't been interviewed by anyone but the Jacksonville Jaguars yet.
Or maybe Carroll is exactly what they want because what they would be asking him to do, he's already done before with the Seattle Seahawks. We simply don't know what's going through the minds of Tom Brady and Mark Davis. But what we do know is that they need to make the hire as soon as they can.
Teams are running circles around the Raiders’ head coaching search
The Las Vegas Raiders have yet to hold any head coaching interviews.
