The linebacker position for the Las Vegas Raiders last season was not the strength of their defense. During this off-season, they have addressed it in some capacity. The added former Titans LB Jayon Brown to provide depth with upside. Brown is sure to see plenty of snaps, and he'll be important on passing downs, according to Pro Football Focus.
Brown will join Denzel Perryman and Divine Deablo as the main linebackers for the Raiders. Deablo is a converted safety, so he does have plenty of experience in coverage. The Raiders needed more, though. Brown provides that.
Under Patrick Graham, the Raiders will have an aggressive defense. Linebackers like Brown and Deablo provide a bit more safety in the middle of the field. Both will need to stay healthy because the depth behind them is not earth-shattering.
Brown had his best season in Tennessee in 2018 with 97 tackles, six sacks, and one interception. He's had an interception in each of the last four seasons. The Raiders would love for him to build on that, too.
