The Las Vegas Raiders have been headlining the news in the football world as of late with the recent cut of former first-round pick Alex Leatherwood.
Now, they are continuing that cycle of being in the news with the most recent trade.
The Raiders are sending former second-round pick Treyvon Mullen to the Arizona Cardinals for a 2023 conditional seventh-rounder. Mullen is on the last year of his deal as a 24-year-old corner back.
Mullen doesn't fit the play style this new regime is looking for at that position. They want guys who can play press man. Unfortunately, he doesn't do that well.
They failed this trade miserably. Mullen is worth far more than a seventh-round pick. But, the Raiders seem to know what they are doing.
Mullen had been hurt for most of, if not all of training camp. So, when he was going to come back, he was going to realize that Nate Hobbs was the Raiders' new guy on the outside wearing the silver and black. This is something I predicted not long ago.
Watch for the Raiders to continue to make some moves before the season starts. Dave Ziegler may not be done yet.
