At the end of last season, the Las Vegas Raiders offensive line was much better than it was at the beginning of the season. In the first game of the year against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Raiders allowed Derek Carr to be sacked six times.

They ended up getting some of their stuff together. They weren't one of the best when the season ended, but they certainly weren't one of the worst offensive lines in football when the season was over like many thought they would be.

Now, they are looked at as an average offensive line. They aren't great; they aren't bad. They are right in the middle, only looking to get better. This is a unit that has improved tremendously, but there is one huge reason why.

You have to think about who they go up against in practice. Sure, the defense sucked last year, too. However, Maxx Crosby is one of the best defensive ends in the league, and Chandler Jones was one of the better defensive ends in the last decade.

They have to block those guys, which should only make them better. In fact, Thayer Munford, who was a rookie last season, described blocking Crosby perfectly.

"Every day is a tryout. We go against Maxx [Crosby] every day, and that itself is already a game," Munford told the media. "With us, we just keep our heads down but also keep it up at the same time. Like, 'Alright, it's time to go.' We can't really worry about the past; we can't worry about last year; we can't worry about the future of this year. We've got to focus on now; that's all it is."

The Raiders have a way to get their offensive line better; it's called Maxx Crosby.

In all seriousness, they have definitely improved. Let's see if they can pick up where they left off last season.

How it works is that each team around the NFL nominates one of its players who they feel exemplifies outstanding sportsmanship on the field. The Raiders selected […]
