The Las Vegas Raiders had one of the worst defenses in the league last year. They literally ranked second to last in total DVOA in 2022, per Football Outsiders. Sure, the offense wasn't great either, but the defense, man, it was atrocious.

So, it may be safe to say this offseason should be spent on two things. First, fix the offense and make sure everything flows much better than last season. Second, fix the defense in its entirety. Go get better players on that side of the ball.

They can do that through free agency or the draft. But, they do have a ton of money to spend. Las Vegas has the third most cap space at $46 million, per Spotrac.com.

If I was Dave Ziegler, the Raiders general manager, most of that money would be going toward my defense. Luckily, Pro Football Focus has the Raiders landing one of the best secondary players in free agency.

Here is why PFF thinks the Raiders will get All-Pro cornerback James Bradberry:

Bradberry had a great 2022 season that will, unfortunately, be remembered for his defensive holding call on Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. But it should be remembered for his 79.7 coverage grade when lined up out wide ranked 10th among cornerbacks, his 45.1% completion percentage allowed on the outside ranked seventh and his 0.67 yards per coverage snap out wide ranked eighth.

The Raiders need help at cornerback but have a lot of big contracts across their roster, with the potential arrival of an expensive quarterback only adding to the budget. Bradberry profiles as an above-average No. 2 cornerback and can reunite with Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, who was his defensive coordinator with the New York Giants from 2020-21

James Bradberry is actually exactly what the Raiders need. Their biggest need, in my opinion, is their talent level in the secondary. I think adding an All-Pro guy, who was truly a top-three cornerback all season long, in Bradberry will only help them even more.

Bradberry is going to cost some money though, so, if this were to happen, I'd be interested in seeing how much the Raiders give him.
