The Las Vegas Raiders received some good news on Sunday morning.
After much uncertainty, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has passed his physical and is expected to be ready to go for training camp, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The quarterback had offseason foot surgery. He will not be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform List.
Garoppolo's status was in question after it was announced that he failed his physical on signing day and had to sign his contract the following day. If he didn't pass a physical by the time the season began, the Raiders would be able to move on from the quarterback at no cost.
The Raiders risked it all after releasing Derek Carr in February who signed with the New Orleans Saints in early March. They then signed Garoppolo to a three-year, $67.5 million contract.
Garoppolo began his career with the New England Patriots, playing as the back up to Tom Brady for three seasons. He then went to the San Francisco 49ers from 2017 to 2022 before joining the Raiders.
So all eyes are on Garoppolo to see how he does during training camp.
