The Las Vegas Raiders had some news on Thursday that may give the fans what they have been waiting for.
To start, Raiders fans are split in half on many things, especially the team's decisions. For instance, they were split on the decision to bench Derek Carr and even move on from him. Most wanted him gone, but there is a good bit of fans that wanted to keep him.
The same can be said about the decision to sign Jimmy Garoppolo. Fans knew he had an injury history and wouldn't really wow you with many throws, and others knew that he had the relationship and experience in the offensive system.
But there is one thing that almost every Raiders fan wants to see now: their rookie quarterback, Aidan O'Connell, playing an actual NFL game.
And he might get his chance on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
On Thursday, we learned that Garoppolo is still in concussion protocol and could miss Sunday, increasing O'Connell's chances of playing this week. However, there is still a chance he won't play. The Raiders will likely play Brian Hoyer over O'Connell.
Hoyer has played in this system before, is a veteran, and has starting experience, whereas O'Connell has none of that; he is just more talented than Hoyer.
The Raiders have a tough decision to make if Garoppolo can't go, but there is a really good chance that fans could finally see what they have been waiting for.
