This offseason, under head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek, will be very new for the Las Vegas Raiders. We don't really know how they like to do things, like training camp and the offseason program.
Now, sure, we can dive deep into their history with the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but they may want to try some new things. This offseason will be all about us learning as we go, about what kind of coach Carroll is during the offseason. When training camp gets here, it will be completely different from Antonio Pierce this last year, and it will be even more different than Josh McDaniels did things, hopefully.
And how he does things in the offseason can tell you a lot about the coach. Expect things to be different because he is a seasoned head coach who has won a lot of football games. No shade to the other two guys, but their experience as head coaches just doesn't compare or even come close.
And, we start seeing that side of Carroll here very soon. On Thursday, the Raiders revealed their schedule for their offseason programs and workouts.
Raiders offseason program dates
First day: April 8th
Voluntary minicamp: April 21-23
OTAs: May 19, May 21-22, May 27, May 29-30, June 2-5
Mandatory minicamp: June 10-12
The first two weeks will basically be meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation. And, either way, that is showing that we are one-step closer to the next season starting, despite it feeling like the last one just ended.
This is where we will get a few clips here and there every day on players going through drills, coaching yelling, and things like that. These players are not going to be scrimmaging against one another, or anything crazy. But, hey, football is almost back.

The Raiders would ace the draft if they did that.
