Craziness is amongst us, as the Las Vegas Raiders have now fired head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco, after yet another disappointing season. And, while the Pierce one was somewhat expected, besides the fact that they made him go talk to the media the day before firing him, the Telesco one really wasn't expected.
And so now they are tasked with finding the missing pieces for both of those roles. So far, at the time of writing this, we haven't really found any new news in terms of their GM search. From everything we have seen and heard, it feels like Tom Brady is calling the shots now, or at least having the biggest say in things outside of Mark Davis. Does that mean he is the new GM, No. Does it mean he can't be the new GM? No.
But it's clear he is calling some shots.
So what's the news with the head coaching search? We have everything new here, after one week of searching for a new HC:
Raiders' search for HC heats up
According to several reports everywhere, the Raiders have set up several interview requests, and even have interviews scheduled to happen on Friday, those are virtual due to the two candidates being in the playoffs with the Detroit Lions in offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and their defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.
The Raiders are also set to interview former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carrol and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Vic Tafur of The Athletic has reported that former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh is also a name the Raiders want to interview.
But get this — no Mike Vrabel interview request yet. Maybe they think he already has the job locked up for the New England Patriots?
We have also found out that former Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham has also been requested to interview for the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching vacancy, as well as the Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator job.
There is a lot going on right now with this team, but we will try to keep you as updated as possible.
