The Las Vegas Raiders are really about to try to make a playoff push in 2023. That's a crazy statement to read on a screen, let alone even type onto that said screen.
But they are really going for it, and Josh McDaniels isn't the guy leading the charge.
Instead, it's a guy who never played for the Raiders but played in the Super Bow for the New York Giants and grew up rooting for the Raiders. Antonio Pierce, the interim head coach, is doing just that.
So, they need to win every game from here on out. To make sure they do that, the Raiders need all hands on deck. So, they made some roster moves on Friday to help with just that.
Per the team's very own Twitter account, the Raiders are signing Jakob Johnson, the only fullback on the entire roster, to the active roster. Johnson actually made the 53-man roster under Josh McDaniels, then was released and brought back on the practice squad. Friday, he was signed back to the active roster.
The Raiders also activated DT Matthew Butler and TE Cole Fotheringham from the practice squad, along with signing TE John Samuel Shenker to the practice squad.
The Raiders are scheduled to play the Colts on Sunday at 10 am PT.
