Losing is not what Davante Adams came to Las Vegas to do.

Yet, at 2-6, that is what the Raiders have done plenty of to this point in the season. It has Adams peeved. He criticized the current state of the team's offensive philosophy to Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

"I've got no business being in this building," he said. "Just going to concede and say, 'Oh, they double-teamed Tae, so it's forcing the ball to him if we threw it to him,'" Adams continued.

"If you think that the only way I'm going to get the ball is when I'm singled up, then I'm going to have four catches on the year," he added. "… I think that when you have certain players, you do what you can do to get them opportunities, and that’s why I’m here. That’s why they paid me to come here and make plays."

Las Vegas sits in last place in the AFC West. It's clear Adams isn't happy about that. He was supposed to be the big off-season move that pushed the Raiders over the hill. Instead, the team appears to have taken a few steps back.

Adams isn't the issue, but it's clear he isn't the solution either.

Adams, 29, signed a five-year, $141.25 million contract in the off-season. The star wide receiver is entering the final years of his prime and this stop in Las Vegas could represent his last chance to win a Super Bowl. The growing sense of urgency is leading to frustrations beginning to simmer.

“I don’t put anything on the coaches,” Adams said when asked who is to blame. “I think that we’ve got to do our job. But when I looked at (the tape), we had plenty of opportunities. There were plays there. It’s really just execution from the players at the end of the day."

That starts with the Raiders getting their best players the ball and producing in the second half of games.
