If you've been active on social media, you've likely come across the ongoing debate between NFL and NBA players. Interestingly, the Las Vegas Raiders have a player who's adding a unique perspective to this argument.
The argument, or debate, is that one side has the better chance of playing the other sport. For example, NBA players think they have more players in their league who could play in the NFL than NF:L players who could play in the NBA.
The debate is a complex one, no doubt, but it's also incredibly intriguing. Both sides have put forth compelling arguments, making it a discussion that's well worth exploring. In my view, NBA players' superior athleticism would make them more suited to the NFL than vice versa. The NBA is a sport and league that places a higher premium on skill than the NFL. This isn't to say that the NFL lacks skill, but often, players in the NFL can rely solely on their athleticism. In the NBA, everyone is athletic. You need to be significantly more skilled.
But this isn't about what I think.
The argument has been pretty big on Twitter, or X, whatever you may call it. Several players currently in both leagues and formerly in both leagues have given their opinions. We have also seen players in one league actually make the case for the other league a few times.
But now, one Las Vegas Raiders player is kind of making the case for NFL players. Like I said – kind of.
Kicker Daniel Carlson recently shot a half-court from the sideline and made it. Now, that actually means nothing. But it's cool to see him do that while this debate is going on. Just to tick others off on the opposite side, I'll say he's contributing and helping NFL players in this debate.
Now, he kind of just chucked the ball, but hey, it went in, and that's all that matters. It was a pretty sweet shot, though.
Raiders’ Daniel Carlson almost relived one of his worst nightmares vs. Packers
The Raiders’ defense was able to make up for it.
