The Las Vegas Raiders gave a contract extension to center Andre James this offseason. Then, afterward, they drafted center Jackson Powers-Johnson from Oregon. It took JPJ a while to play because he was recovering from an injury, but when he did, he started at right guard as Dylan Parham started dealing with his own injury.

Here's the deal with JPJ: He's great at guard and has Pro Bowl potential there. But, he's even better at the center, and I think anyone who watched the Oregon Ducks last season saw that.

Now, he has some good news, as his teammate deals with an injury. Obviously, you never wish anyone to have an injury, especially your teammate, but when an opportunity presents itself, you have to take the bull by the horns.

Andre James dealt with an injury last game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Raiders put JPJ at center. He played amazingly. Now, James is out against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Antonio Pierce.

So, JPJ will get the start against the Bengals at center. And, this news just got even worse for James. Because, to me, I think JPJ is a better center than James is.

I'm not sure what that will end up meaning for a guy they just gave a lot of money to, but it could shake things up a bit for the future, like a potential position change for James, like at guard, where he played at UCLA or even a trade.

Who knows? For now, though, JPJ is set to have a big game against the Bengals. We're not sure how long James will be out, but JPJ could also play against any of the teams they play coming up like the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos or Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
