Raiders' training camp is out of whack for one big reason

Las Vegas Raiders Offense Defense

The Las Vegas Raiders offense was going to be so good in 2022. At least, that's what all the hype was about. So far in training camp, that side of the ball has struggled.

We thought that if there was a problem, it was going to be on the defensive side of the ball. However, training camp has shown that just simply isn't the case.

The problems on the offensive side haven't necessarily gotten better, and the Raiders are running out of time. When I say problems, I am definitely referring to the offensive line.

Meanwhile, the defense is making everything look so easy during training camp.

Raiders' defense has dominated camp as of late

Obviously, the defensive side of the ball has some names. But did we really expect them to be dominating an offense like what the Raiders have on paper?

The Raiders offense has the best receiver in the league in Davante Adams, one of the best pure slot guys in Hunter Renfrow, and one of the best tight ends in the league in Darren Waller.

Yet, the offense is struggling.

According to a Raiders beat writer, and Locked on Raiders podcast host Q Myers, the offensive line was beaten up all day on Wednesday by the defensive line. Myers said on the podcast that there was even a moment when Chandler Jones beat Alex Leatherwood so bad, that Leatherwood had to go take a knee on the sideline for a bit and catch his breath.

Half of that is something you love to hear, and the other half is the exact opposite.

We knew the offensive line is going to have problems, but this is bad. And training camp is supposed to have an ebb-and-flow feel to it. One side isn't supposed to consistently dominate like the Raiders defense has.

As for the defense, there may be something brewing that we have yet to see and won't see until Week 1. Hopefully, the offense figures out whatever is wrong, and hopefully, the defense continues their dominance and carries it over against opponents during the regular season.
