The Las Vegas Raiders still have a lot of different opinions on one of their draft picks, but the odds to win one award may beg to differ. The Raiders took a guy that not many expected them to take.

The biggest thing, or rumor, I should say, was that a lot of media and fans thought the Raiders should draft a quarterback. But, obviously, they ended up going defense in the first round, as they should have.

Their defense was one of the worst in the entire league last year, as they were terrible at stopping the run, and their secondary wasn't good either. But, at pick seven the board didn't fall the way they had planned, that is if they wanted an elite defensive back that fit their scheme. Sure, Gonzales was there, but he wasn't near as good a fit as Devon Witherspoon was.

But, they were able to get Tyree Wilson, a guy who has a ton of potential on the edge. The big reason people were skeptical about the Raiders drafting him is because of his foot injury. But, as he has since told the Raiders, he will be ready for training camp.

Which is great, because that's just in time to start his Defensive Rookie of the Year campaign. I mean, he does have some pretty high odds to win it, so why not start the campaign in August?

According to Sports Betting Dime, the Raiders' first pick has the second-highest odd to win the prestigious award behind just Will Anderson, the Houston Texans' new centerpiece on that side of the ball.

Anderson has the odds set at +350, and Wilson has the second-highest odds at +800, which aren't bad at all. That would definitely be a bet worth taking.

Especially when you factor in which of these two teams could be better during the season, and why those players have a bigger impact on their defense. If Wilson replaces Chandler Jones, I think he would have a solid case for the award.
