The Las Vegas Raiders wanted to go into the hiring process with the general manager done first and then hire the head coach. However, as we all know, they hired Antonio Pierce as head coach last week. Since then, they have been looking for their GM.
Champ Kelly, the interim GM last season, Tom Telesco, and Ed Dodds were the three candidates that the Raiders liked. On Tuesday, though, some news dropped that let everyone know the direction the silver and black were going.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Raiders will likely hire Tom Telesco, the former Los Angeles Chargers general manager.
He was good at getting talent to the Chargers, whether it be Justin Herbert, Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Rashawn Slater, or Derwin James. But he is also responsible for contracts like the atrocious J.C. Jackson contract. He ruined the Chargers cap situation.
However, Mark Davis is strict about spending money when he feels he shouldn't. This could be an interesting dynamic in Las Vegas.
