It’s time for the Las Vegas Raiders to admit what’s far too obvious and prepare for it the best way possible
The Las Vegas Raiders need to start prepping for the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Las Vegas Raiders are not a strong football team, which is probably common knowledge by now. They are losing in ways that they shouldn’t, like only having five total first downs against the Kansas City Chiefs, being blown out by the Indianapolis Colts, and letting the Chicago Bears drive down the field and score in crunch time for the win.
The first win of the season against the New England Patriots was probably their best game. Other than that, even their win against the Tennessee Titans was bad. It’s time for the Raiders to admit that they aren’t a good team.
It’s time for them to start thinking about the 2026 NFL Draft, and we’re not even out of October yet.
Raiders need to start thinking about what they want the team to look like in 2026
There is a real possibility this team could have a top-three pick in the 226 NFL Draft. If so, who says the Raiders don’t go and get a quarterback like LaNorris Sellers, Garrett Nussmeier, John Mateer, Jayden Maiava, Fernando Mendoza, or anyone else who looks like the best QB at that point?
It’s time to start tanking — not intentionally, but by letting their younger players play a ton of football for the rest of the season and trying to build their foundation. This would help them develop more quickly and figure out what they have with their young guys, especially the guys in this rookie class who haven’t played a ton.
The Raiders need to start thinking about how bad they want to be sellers at the NFL trade deadline coming up here soon. Do they trade WR Jakobi Meyers for some draft compensation to help with the rebuild, rather than letting him walk for nothing?
Or, do they even entertain trading Maxx Crosby? I don’t think they do that, but these days you never know. The Raiders could do anything at the deadline. It’s time for them to start thinking about the offseason and next season.
