2025 will be the third season since the Las Vegas Raiders didn't have a revolving door at the quarterback position, you know, back when they had Derek Carr. Now, that's not me saying they had a great quarterback then, because Carr had his fair share of issues, but at least they knew what they were going to get every year. Now they have no clue.

Whether it's Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell again, a veteran quarterback who's been around the block, or a rookie quarterback, the Raiders still don't know what the position group will look like by the end of 2025 and if it was a successful one. This offseason is about addressing that position group, the most important one, in one of the most important offseasons this team has had in some time.

There is a chance they could go the route of both options, grabbing a veteran quarterback and drafting a rookie, just for insurance purposes. Or they could draft a rookie like Sheduer Sanders, Cam Ward, or maybe Jaxson Dart. And of course, there are rumors of players like Sam Darnold, Aaron Rodgers, and Russell Wilson being linked to the Raiders.

If they were to go that route, should they go after one? And if they did go after one of them, should they go after Wilson, who wanted to go to the Raiders last offseason?

Let's dive into it

Should the Raiders pursue Russell Wilson?

There are certainly points to be made on both sides of this argument, and knowing the Raiders fan base, Raider Nation that is, they will be split right down the middle on this great debate. I already know some of the fan base will absolutely want Wilson, and some will absolutely hate it.

With Pete Carroll now being the head coach of the Raiders, you have to think about what worked for him as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. He won a Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos and went to another one against the New England Patriots, but unfortunately lost. Russell Wilson was the quarterback during those days.

Obviously, he is far from what he used to be, but he was just a Pro Bowler this last year, so maybe in the right system he could be good for the right team.

Last year with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wilson had his fair share of bad plays. But, he led them to the playoffs, something the Raiders desperately needed to do. So should the Raiders pursue him? Well, that depends. Is the price going to be right?

Last season he took a one-year $1.2 million deal, and if that's something he is willing to do again, sign me up if I'm the Raiders. But, if he's asking for a deal that is insane, or even one that causes a little bit of hesitation, no, don't do it.

The Raiders will need a quarterback regardless of how they get him. They may want to get a veteran in case the draft doesn't work out, because you just don't know what will happen.
