The Los Angeles Rams are on fire, right now, and they look like a true playoff contender after dismantling the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football.

Puka Nacua continued his torrid rookie pace, Kyren Williams ran all over the place, and the Rams defense absolutely shut down Derek Carr and the Saints offense until garbage time in the fourth quarter. In all, the Rams are playing their best football of the year.

And the end result, as of Week 16, is the NFC's sixth playoff seed and a 72% chance of making the playoffs, per the New York Times' playoff machine.

Before kickoff, LA had just a 49% chance of making the dance. Now, they're in if they simply take care of their business.

That's easier said than done, however. They have a 1pm ET kick on the East Coast in Week 17 against the New York Giants. Brian Daboll's squad isn't striking fear into the hearts of many or anything like that, but Wink Martindale's defense has been playing pretty well though and a cross-country trip is never easy to navigate in the NFL.

Then, the Rams travel to the Bay Area to take on the San Francisco 49ers in the season finale. That's right, the NFC's best team. The same 9ers squad that has given Sean McVay fits over the years.

The keys to the rest of the season will be the Rams defense and Williams. If the defense continues to improve (we know Williams will keep doing his thing), then this team is certainly one to be feared moving forward into the final weeks of the season.
