The Los Angeles Rams have had an incredibly busy Friday. They announced that Matthew Stafford will return as the team's quarterback. They're expected to reach a new extension with him in the coming months.
Additionally, they have locked down one of his best pieces on offense as well.
Rams extend Alaric Jackson
The Rams have agreed to a 3-year, $57 million deal with $35M guaranteed. Jackson was projected to be one of the top offensive tackles available in free agency, if LA did not work out a new deal with him.
Jackson will slot back in at left tackle and takes away a major need for Leo Angeles. Without him, it is possible that they would have two new starting OTs next season. Now, that's no longer a worry for Sean McVay and the front office.
Jackson, who was set to be a top free agent in a few weeks, will now remain with the Rams as they lock in the 26-year-old former undrafted free agent.

We will see what the Rams choose to do at right tackle now. Selecting an OT early in the 2025 NFL Draft could be a reality, or they may target a veteran option during free agency.
Bringing back both Jackson and Stafford in the same day is a great start to LA's offseason.
There was uncertainty involved, but good choices prevailed. We will see how the rest of the unit looks in 2025. Don't be surprised if they trade Cooper Kupp, opening a new role at WR for either a rookie or free agent option.
Regardless, bringing Jackson back was a vital task for LA's offense, and they found a way to get it done at the right price for both sides.
