Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua wins NFL honor and another might not be too far behind
The 2025 season could be a special one for Nacua.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has arguably gotten off to the hottest start of the 2025 season among all players in the NFL.
Nacua leads the league in both receptions (42) and receiving yards (503). He caught his first touchdown last week against the Indianapolis Colts, while also posting 13 catches for 170 yards. For that effort, Nacua was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Puka Nacua is also in the running to be named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September
Nacua has recorded double-digit receptions and gone over 100 receiving yards in three out of four games this season. He’s also made an impact in the Rams’ rushing attack, racking up 52 yards and one touchdown.
Nacua is a comfortable eight catches ahead of Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson, and 101 yards ahead Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The only knock on Nacua’s game is that he only has one receiving touchdown.
Despite that, he should firmly be in the mix to win NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September. Other players who could be up for the award include Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, as well as Nucua’s teammates in QB Matthew Stafford and RB Kyren Williams.
Nacua is one of the best route runners in the league, grading in the top five against both man and zone coverage in last season, per Pro Football Focus. If he can maintain the pace he’s on so far in 2025, Nacua will also have a case for Offensive Player of the Year, and even MVP. The Rams’ offense ranks third in passing and fourth overall. L.A. will now take on a depleted San Francisco 49ers team on Thursday Night Football with the opportunity to take possession of first place in the NFC West.
