The Los Angeles Rams will have a tough 2025 season, facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, and San Francisco 49ers twice in this upcoming season.
However, the NFL did them a favor on how they scheduled it for the Rams.
According to ESPN's Brian Burke, the Rams have the fifth-biggest rest advantage of any team in the NFL this season at plus-8. This means they will have eight extra days of rest compared to their opponents in 2025.
This is crucial for the Rams, as they will need time and rest to prepare for the gauntlet their second half of the season promises to be.
Additionally, the Rams' schedule also promises some other interesting advantages that could be underappreciated moments during the season. Los Angeles will not play a single team coming off a bye week all season, while their bye week comes at the end of their trek to London to take on Jacksonville. The NFL did the Rams another favor by scheduling an East Coast game the week before traveling out to London, with the Rams taking on the Ravens before crossing the Atlantic.
The Rams will also play most of the season in domed stadiums, something that could be pretty advantageous after some rough outings in the weather in recent seasons, including an ugly 12-6 win over the 49ers on Thursday Night Football last season. While they didn't earn any favors with their late TNF appearance this season, playing on the heels of what should be a physical matchup against the Detroit Lions, they do get an extra day of rest before their next game, a Monday Night showdown against the Atlanta Falcons.
While none of these appear huge on the surface, all of these little breaks add up over time, especially for a Rams' offense led by crucial veterans like Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, and Rob Havenstein.
