There was a point in time when Odell Beckham Jr.'s prospects in the NFL grew slim. 

That is when the Los Angeles Rams and head coach Sean McVay stepped in. 

Beckham was booted out of Cleveland after a public feud with then-franchise quarterback Baker Mayfield. It was the Rams that picked him up, brought him in, and taught him how to love football again. 

"McVay kind of was the person through the whole situation …brought me back to loving football and understanding true professionalism and being prepared," Beckham said. "It was just a great experience for me." 

Beckham's last game with the Rams came in the Super Bowl. He was on pace for an MVP-like performance until he tore his ACL. The injury cost him the entire 2022 season. 

There were inklings that Beckham could return to Los Angeles, but he opted for the Baltimore Ravens, led by MVP-caliber quarterback Lamar Jackson. 

Making Week 14 the first week Beckham will play against his former team and former coach, which he outwardly credits for essentially saving a career that was teetering on the edge. 

"[Playing for the Rams] was one of the best things that's happened in my life," Beckham said with a smile. "There, I just felt prepared to go into every game. I think McVay does an incredible job.

"I have nothing but the utmost love and respect for him, that place, and those people."
