The Los Angeles Rams announced a flurry of roster moves as they prepare to host the Minnesota Vikings during Monday night's wild-card matchup.

After spending 16 weeks on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, the Rams have designated safety John Johnson III to return. He has been healthy and ready to go for a while now, but Kamren Curl, Kamren Kinchens, and Jaylen McCollough have all been playing well. However, having an extra talented veteran on hand will be a positive, especially facing a wide receiver corps as talented as Minnesota's.

Johnson has 15 career interceptions, 48 passes defensed, and 562 total tackles. He will be eligible to play on Monday night should Los Angeles choose to use him. Johnson is taking the roster spot of running back Blake Corum, who has been placed on injured reserve with a broken forearm. With that development, the Rams have signed running back Royce Freeman to the practice squad as insurance.

Freeman is a seven-year veteran who has bounced around with the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, and Chicago Bears this season. He had a solid first three years with the Denver Broncos, racking up 1,187 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. L.A. released safety Quindell Johnson, who has spent nearly the entire year on it's practice squad, to make room for Freeman.
