Rams remain in the hunt to win the Super Bowl, and a new 2026 NFL mock draft has them doing something unexpected as a result

The Rams aren’t used to having multiple first-round picks, but a new 2026 NFL mock draft has them using both to improve their roster.

The Los Angeles Rams remain alive in the race to be crowned this year’s Super Bowl champions, but no matter how this year ends, they have a big offseason coming up.

The Rams have become a team many expect to make big moves in the offseason. In years past, the team has used draft picks to land premier talent. However, the Rams may take a different approach this offseason.

Thanks to their draft day trade with the Atlanta Falcons last year, they own Atlanta’s first-rounder on top of their own for the 2026 NFL Draft. Some may think they should trade those picks for a win-now move, but they could also fill two holes on their roster. That’s precisely what they did in a new mock draft.

Rams select Miami OT Francis Mauigoa and Clemson CB Avieon Terrell in a new mock draft

Pick 13: Francis Mauigoa, Miami, OT

“The Rams could use some better protection up front, and there is no better RT in the draft than Mauigoa. Look no further than what he has done during Miami’s CFP run as a protector for Carson Beck.” – New A to Z Sports 3-round mock draft

Pick 29: Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson

“Terrell might be viewed as a slot CB, but he still has some of the best mirroring ability in this class and would fit perfectly in a nickel-heavy team with the pass rush that the Rams employ.” – New A to Z Sports 3-round mock draft

Matthew Stafford has demonstrated this season that he is still one of the best, with him seemingly on the verge of winning his first MVP. He likely doesn’t have many years left, but he has shown that he still has plenty in the tank, and the Rams need to prioritize optimizing their Super Bowl window, whether they win it this year or not.

So using their first pick on a talented offensive lineman like Mauigoa seems like a brilliant play. Keeping Stafford healthy is their top priority, and adding Mauigoa would help them do that.

The Rams went to the other side of the ball with their second first-rounder by selecting Clemson CB Terell, the brother of Falcons star CB A.J. Terrell. Its secondary is arguably the weakest point of the Rams’ defense. To me, filling that hole, in addition to improving their offensive line, is a better use of Los Angeles’ resources than packaging the picks in a trade for a single player.
