The Los Angeles Rams will be without starting running back Kyren Williams for at least the next four weeks.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Williams has been placed on the Reserve/Injured list. He's eligible to return in Week 12.
Williams, a second-year player, suffered an ankle injury last week against the Arizona Cardinals after rushing for a career-best 158 yards and a touchdown. Head coach Sean McVay noted that Williams, along with Ronnie Rivers, were each "going to be out for a little bit" earlier in the week.
This news confirms McVay's suspicion.
It's a tough blow for the Rams' offense, which has turned to Williams after trading Cam Akers to the Minnesota Vikings prior to Week 3. Williams has 456 yards and six touchdowns on 97 carries this year.
To help soften the blow this week, the Rams have also elevated RB Darrell Henderson from the practice squad. Henderson has been with the Rams since being drafted in the third round in 2019.
Should Henderson do well against the Pittsburgh Steelers' defense, the Rams could sign him off the practice squad during Williams' absence. The Rams can only elevate Henderson two more times if they choose to keep him on the practice squad.
