When Raheem Morris got a job with the Atlanta Falcons, the writing was on the wall for former Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Zac Robinson.

Robinson, who received numerous offensive coordinator interviews, was always going to follow Morris to wherever he was hired, according to a report from The Athletic

So, Sean McVay had no chance to keep the passive game coordinator who has gotten the most out of Matthew Stafford in recent years.

Now, there isn't bad blood for McVay. He promoted 37-year-old Chris Shula, the grandson of Hall of Fame coach Don Shula, to defensive coordinator following Morris' departure.

The younger Shula has been with the Rams since McVay arrived in 2017. And the move came with a tipped hat to Morris, who the Rams believe deserved a head coaching job.

The Rams made a few other coaching moves. On Friday, Los Angeles hired Giff Smith to be the defensive line coach and run-game coordinator.

On the coaching carousel cycle, it was clear, the Rams had no shot at retaining Robinson. McVay isn't mad about it. His coaching tree only grows.
