Rams HC Sean McVay reveals concerning update on Davante Adams but immediately pours freezing cold water on it
The veteran wide receiver is trying to push through an injury.
The Los Angeles Rams are rolling. Like, rolling maybe even with a capital “R” at the start of it. Matthew Stafford is playing at an MVP level, and the pass catcher group looks like one of the best in the entire NFL. With that, the hope is that they can stay healthy down the stretch.
According to head coach Sean McVay, veteran wide receiver Davante Adams is dealing with an oblique injury.

Via Gary Klein, Adams did not practice Wednesday. That being said, the Rams HC still thinks that Adams will be ready to play Sunday in a massive divisional matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams need to be as close to full strength as possible when they take on another one of the best offenses in the entire league.
McVay revealed earlier in the week that Adams would have returned to the Rams’ Week 10 victory if the game was closer. Since Los Angeles had a sizable lead and momentum when he was forced out, they did not want to push him back in and risk further injury. The veteran wideout has dealt with a few different ailments this season but has consistently remained available and impressive.
“I know his mindset and mentality, he’s going to do everything in his power to be ready to go. Haven’t had a chance to get with Reggie (Scott) and those guys, but I’ll be surprised if our guy doesn’t make it to next week. I know he was optimistic about it after the game but we’ll see how he’s feeling.” — McVay on Adams’ status via the Coach McVay Show
It is no secret that Adams will push to play. He is a veteran who wants to help his team get a huge win over a rival that is also a projected playoff squad. The receiver leads the NFL with nine touchdown catches so far this season.
Keep an eye on Adams’ status as the week unfolds. If it develops as his coach predicts, he will hit the gridiron on Sunday against Seattle.
