The Los Angeles Rams received a tough update from HC Sean McVay at the start of OTAs. A key piece to their offensive success last season will be on the shelf for a bit.

Rams starting RB Kyren Williams is dealing with a foot injury.

Williams has dealt with a few injuries so far in his young NFL career already. He was on injured reserve for part of last season with an ankle injury. Then, he left during the Rams' Wild Card matchup with a broken hand. Now, a foot issue is giving him trouble.

Accordingly, this is a chance for rookie RB Blake Corum to step up in a major way.

The Rams clearly valued the former Michigan Wolverine. They selected him in the third round with the 83rd overall selection. He's a gritty runner with some potential in the receiving game as well.

Los Angeles has consistently found good value at the RB position without selecting them in the first two rounds of the draft under Sean McVay. Corum can add himself to that list if he proves himself as a rookie.

Keep an eye out for a timetable for Williams' return closer to training camp. If he can be back to full strength by the start of the regular season, you can expect him to start. If not, don't be surprised to see the rookie grab most of the carries early in 2024 for the Rams.

No matter what – expect Corum to play a role on their offense in his first year as a pro.
