Latest rankings prove Rams' 2024 success will be built on the back of one position
The Los Angeles Rams are loaded at wide receiver, the position that will define the 2024 season.
Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua give the Los Angeles Rams limitless talent at the wide receiver position.
Kupp suffered a down year, but Puka Nacua looked like the best wide receiver out of the 2023 draft class.
Pro Football Focus ranked the Rams' wide receiver group No. 8 in the league, ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals (No. 9) and behind the Detroit Lions (No. 7).
"Puka Nacua‘s emergence vaults the Rams into the top 10, if nothing else because of how effective and productive both he and Cooper Kupp have proven to be when healthy," writes Trevor Sikkema with Pro Football Focus.
"Nacua was a record-setter last season, and Kupp won the receiving triple crown the last time he was fully healthy. The team's receiving grades outside of them are low, but those two are good enough to carry the unit."
A healthy Kupp and an effective Nacua will make aging Matthew Stafford's life easier.
Nacua is spending the offseason working on his game. That will make the Rams wide receiver group increasingly potent. In April, the second-year pass catcher explained his approach to offseason workouts.
"I feel like I'm still trying to reach Coop's expectations," Nacua said Monday after Day 1 of the Rams' offseason program, via the Rams' official team website. "Because he set the standard for us in the wide receiver room and for a lot of receivers in the NFL. I mean, to be the triple-crown winner. I just mentioned it to him not too long ago, I don't know how wide receivers have won a Super Bowl MVP.
"The standard is still set very high, and I don't think I'm close to reaching it."
It is a moment where Nacua put everyone else in the league on notice. Now the Rams wide receiver group has to live up to expectations.
