The impending offseason for the Los Angeles Rams is perhaps their most interesting in years. The rumors around quarterback Matthew Stafford are still circling as loud as ever, star wide receiver Cooper Kupp seems at his end in Los Angeles, and the team has plenty of pending free agents to retain.

However, thanks to their recent youth movement, the team has plenty of cap space to make big moves in free agency and add proven talent to the roster at multiple positions without crippling the team.

If the Rams once again decide to make bold and aggressive moves, what can we expect the team to do?

Three bold free agency predictions for the Los Angeles Rams

The Rams break down and invest in an elite linebacker

It's been a running theme for years that the Los Angeles Rams have ignored the linebacker position. They traded away their best one in years in Ernest Jones for pennies, while refusing to invest in a serious replacement at the position. Sure enough, the linebacker room was one of the worst in the NFL and cost the defense repeatedly throughout the season.

Maybe, just maybe, the pressure and need will be enough for Les Snead to finally listen and buck this nonsensical trend. They have two perfect targets who will likely be available in Dre Greenlaw and Nick Bolton. If the Rams want their defense to take the next step, they'd swing for the fences here for an elite talent.

Los Angeles replaces Cooper Kupp with another savvy vet

Who the Rams sign will largely hinge on the future of Matthew Stafford, but operating under the assumption he will return opens up more possibilities. It recently came out that longtime great DaVante Adams will likely be cut from the Jets and would like to "play for one of the Los Angeles teams".

I'd be all aboard the Rams adding him to replace Cooper Kupp. Adams is still an effective separator, something Kupp has regressed in after multiple injuries. The team is searching for a WR1 to pair with Puka Nacua and keep the Super Bowl window open.

I would also be very interested in adding Chris Godwin in the offseason, but it feels unlikely that he becomes available after pushing back his void date with the Buccaneers.

Chris Shula finally gets a superstar defensive back

The Rams will continue to pour resources into the defense this offseason, this time adding a star cornerback to help retool the secondary. They have plenty of options to do so as well in this offseason.

With this increased investment to turn their defense around, my bold prediction will be the Rams add one of Paulsen Adebo, D.J. Reed, Byron Murphy Jr., or Jaire Alexander to give defensive coordinator Chris Shula a reliable top-flight cornerback to build their coverages around.
