It is set to be a busy offseason for the Los Angeles Rams.
After a busy few weeks in the coaching search after losing Raheem Morris to a head coaching gig, the Rams are slowly turning their eyes toward the free-agent market.
The good news is several players present quality options for the Rams, who are looking to build on a 10-7 season and an NFL playoff appearance after a down 2022 run.
With all that being said, let's look at three players I think the Rams must look at to build on what was a positive 2023.
1.) Edge rusher: Brian Burns, 25

There is no world where the Rams shouldn't invest in Burns. Despite his down year in 2023, Burns can still be a game-wrecker when in the zone.
He finished the season with nine sacks after recording 12.5 sacks in 2022.
Burns' impact on the Rams could be alongside Byron Young and Aaron Donald. His direct influence on the defensive line could make the Rams one of the most feared teams regarding the pass rush in the NFL.
A to Z Sports ranks Burns as the No. 10-best free agent in the 2024 class. He is projected to earn a four-year, $90 million contract. Working against the Rams would be the reality that Carolina could franchise-tag Burns due to not wanting to lose him for nothing in return.

2.) Guard: Kevin Dotson, 27

Dotson was a late offseason trade that paid big dividends throughout the year. Now, he is up for a slight bump in pay.
Directly after the season ended, the Rams admitted that they will be in the market for Dotson, who they expect to have several offers.
Naturally, that makes sense. He was central to an offense line that allowed Kyren Williams to rush for 1,000 yards, the first since Todd Gurley dawned a Rams uniform.
A to Z Sports described Dotson as a player who won't reset the market in 2024 but could earn himself a pretty penny when the dust settles.
Dotson is projected to earn a four-year, $72 million contract, according to A to Z Sports. He is also ranked the No. 16-best free agent target.

3.) Cornerback: Jaylon Johnson, 24

Johnson is a player who has been on an upward track since he was first drafted in 2020.
Now, he has a chance to cash the check he has rightfully earned. And the good news is the Rams could use the cornerback help.
It will cost the Rams a bit of change to bring Johnson in at 24 years old. But he would be worth the investment. Think back to the Rams' playoff loss, where the defense couldn't stop Jared Goff's passing attack when it needed to most. An improvement in the secondary, around a team already talented, could be the Rams' secret weapon.
To add to the intrigue, Johnson had four interceptions in 2023 and 43 passes defended. In the last three years, he has shown ball skills to go with his overall coverage skills that dissuade quarterbacks from throwing his way.
A to Z Sports projects Johnson to earn a four-year, $80 million contract. Working against the Rams at securing his services is the likelihood he gets franchise tagged, which A to Z Sports also projects to be high.
