The Los Angeles Rams (8-7) are playing their best football and they're getting healthy at the perfect time. The current result? Nothing but an 8-7 record and the NFC's No. 6 seed in the playoffs, of course.

But, each week still matters a lot, even with the good standing. There are currently seven teams that are either 8-7 or 7-8, and even the Chicago Bears are still in the mix at 6-9. Meaning, the slightest slip-up can put the Rams right back on the outside looking in and it's exactly why they can't take the New York Giants (5-10) lightly in Week 17. The Rams' have a 87% chance of making the playoffs with a win, but the odds drop all the way to 26% if they lose.

Will you be able to watch the game on TV? If you live in the green areas on the map, below, you'll get this game on your local FOX channels, according to 506sports.com:

The Rams-Giants game (green) is competing with four other game on FOX's early schedule and none of the other matchups are objectively compelling, so it makes sense the station is spreading things out across the country.

Regardless, if you don't live in the green areas, you won't be able to catch the game on local TV channels. Of course, there are plenty of other ways to watch in today's world. If you have YouTube TV, there's obviously the Sunday Ticket package that comes with it. There are other streaming sites such as FuboTV, DAZN, and others, as well.

And, if you don't want to deal with any of that – you can always listen to the game on the Rams Radio Network

Rams offensive line and takeaways will be key

The Rams' front five have allowed just 10.0 sacks over the last seven games after allowing 20.0 in the first eight matchups. It's not just because the Rams are running the ball a ton, therefore eliminating opportunities for opposing defenses, either. The team currently sits in third, with a 5.06% sack rate. Only the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs have a better rate and it's easy to see why due to Patrick Mahomes' and Josh Allen's ability to avoid sacks.

The offensive line has to keep this up against a subpar Giants pass rush. Wink Martindale's defense currently has the second-fewest sacks on the year (25) to go along with the 12th-lowest pressure rate (20.0%). That's already bad enough, but it gets even worse when considering the fact that the Giants blitz teams at the second-highest rate in the NFL.

Blitzing like that, with little to no success, is not a good recipe in today's day and age. It's a big reason why the Giants allow the sixth-most points at 24.7 points per game.

The Rams defense is going to have to create takeaways, too. The Giants offense is already bad enough, but this game can be won, quickly, if the defense can set the tone and give the offense some extra chances to score points.

Well, the Rams have picked off opposing quarterbacks in five of the last six games, including four straight matchups. And, Raheem Morris' unit has forced 15 total takeaways since Week 11 – that's tied with the rival San Francisco 49ers for the most takeaways over that span.

If the Rams offensive line protects and the defense continues to take the ball away, then LA should be able to cover the current +5.5-point spread pretty easily.
