The 2025 offseason is shaping up to potentially be a dramatic one for the Los Angeles Rams.

There is some uncertainty surrounding quarterback Matthew Stafford's status with the team, and they have already informed star wide receiver Cooper Kupp that they intend on trading him.

Kupp has been great for the Rams ever since they drafted him in 2017, catching 634 passes for 7,776 yards and 57 touchdowns since that time. He was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2021 after winning the receiving triple crown, leading the league in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.

The positive side of trading Kupp is that it will save Los Angeles around $20 million, but the downside is losing a great player, even if he has struggled to stay healthy as of late. The Rams will need to replace as much of Kupp's production as they can for a decent financial bargain.

In the opinion of ESPN analyst Matt Bowen, Chicago Bears WR Keenan Allen would be the perfect fit for L.A. in its replacement of Kupp.

"Returning to Chicago is an option for Allen, but with the Rams expected to trade Cooper Kupp this spring, there is an opportunity for Allen in Los Angeles," Bowen wrote. "In Sean McVay's offense — which uses movement and alignment to get wide receivers free access off the ball — Allen could operate as the No. 3 option out of the slot. Allen caught 70 passes and seven TDs in Chicago last season."

Allen is set to hit free agency in a few weeks, as the NFL's free agent legal tampering period begins on March 10, with signings able to become official on March 12 – marking the start of the new league year. Over his 12-year career, Allen has recorded 974 receptions for 11,274 yards, and 66 touchdowns.

As Bowen pointed out, Allen is still very productive, even at 32-years-old. He would bring veteran leadership and experience to the Rams' WR corps and give Stafford another weapon to work with. With Demarcus Robinson and TuTu Atwell set to become free agents, L.A. is quickly becoming thin at the WR position.
