Louisville pulled off a miraculous comeback on Saturday, defeating Pitt 34-27. However, the win wasn’t what everyone was talking about.

Instead, the focus was on a scuffle that occurred between the Louisville ball boy and two Pitt defensive backs. So, let’s get into how this all came about.

Cardinals quarterback Miller Moss was intercepted by Panthers defensive back Rasheem Biles, who returned it for a 75-yard touchdown. Following the play, Biles went over to the sidelines to celebrate with his teammates, but a Louisville ball boy came over and grabbed the ball from him. Biles and his teammate, Isaiah Neal, weren’t having that and fought to get it back.

Biles eventually got the ball back, and even went over to the bleachers, throwing it into the crowd.

The reactions to this moment said it all.

“In case yall are wondering, WE GOT THAT BALL BACK AND TOOK HOME A DUB GO CARDS BABY,” Louisville’s Football Running Back manager Zephian posted on X. The Louisville Equipment account also quote-tweeted this post, writing, “The ball is headed back to Louisville! Proud of our senior Manager Zeph! #EquipmentManagerW #GoCards.”

“Louisville ball boy was just tryna do his job,” FanDuel wrote.

Did This Moment Serve As Motivation For Louisville?

Following the fight between the ball boy and two Pittsburgh defensive backs, Louisville went on to outscore the Panthers 34-10, ultimately getting the win.

“Ball boy showed some fight and literally turned the whole game around. Give this guy a full scholarship,” one person wrote on X.

While Moss was responsible for the interception that led to this viral moment, he went on to throw for 339 yards and three touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter. He also recorded a running touchdown.

With just over 10 minutes remaining, Moss sent the ball to tight end Jaleel Skinner, who brought it in for the touchdown to tie the game at 27. The Louisville defense followed that up with a big stop, giving the Cardinals the ball back. And then, they took the lead off a pass from Moss to Nate Kurisky.

The two sides battled back and forth, with Pitt turning it over on downs followed by Louisville punting it away. But the Cardinals ultimately sealed the win with an interception with just four seconds remaining.
