This Sunday, the Miami Dolphins (8-5) take on the Buffalo Bills (10-3) with a lot on the line.
At the moment, the Bills sit atop the AFC East, while the Dolphins are fighting for a wildcard spot. The Bills can take a stranglehold on the division with a win Sunday, while a Dolphins win would put them back in the division race.
One of the biggest matchups in this game is the Bill's secondary vs. Tyreek Hill. Hill is having an All-Pro caliber season, and Bills Safety Jordan Poyer has taken note.
In an interview with Poyer, Pat Mcafee asked if Hill's speed is noticeably different on the field. Poyer had very high praise towards Hill, complimenting him in various ways.
"You can watch all the tape on Tyreek Hill, but it's a completely different thing to see it when you're on the field," Poyer said Wednesday on the Pat McAfee Show.
Poyer also relayed the difficulty of preparing for Hill due to his cheetah-like speed. He later said that Hill is "one of the most electric players in the game of football".
These quotes show that Poyer and the Bills secondary have lots of respect for Hill. This is somewhat surprising, as, in the first matchup between these two teams, the Bills were able to bottle up Hill.
But even then, Hill is obviously one of the NFL's best player, so the respect is not only logical, it's well-deserved.
Hill was held to just two catches for 33 yards, both being his lowest as a Dolphin. Even though Poyer missed the first meeting due to injury, I am sure he and the Bills are hoping for a similar level of production from Hill in this one.
If the Dolphins hope to pull off the upset, they will need Hill to have a much bigger day. If one thing is clear, Poyer and co. respect Hill.
