The Miami Dolphins dodged a major bullet after one of its star player’s was obviously dealing with an injury in Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was in and out of the game on Sunday, battling through a leg injury. While he was limited to just one catch for nine yards against the 49ers, Waddle doesn’t expect to miss any time.
On Monday, Waddle told reporters that the injury is “just part of the game.” He went on to say that he should be ready to play in Sunday night’s matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Dolphins offense hits another gear when Waddle and Tyreek Hill are on their game. The top receiver tandem in the league forces secondaries to pick their poison when game-planning on how to slow down Miami’s potent passing attack.
Tua Tagovailoa will have an opportunity to exploit the NFL’s 19th ranked pass defense. In fact, the Chargers are allowing opponents to pass for an average of 220 yards per game.
The Dolphins are already navigating through injuries on its offensive line. Waddle's availability is paramount for the Dolphins offense, which has already dealt with its fair share of adversity.
