Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has the opportunity to rewrite an unflattering narrative this weekend.

Tagovailoa and the Dolphins (8-5) travel up to Buffalo to face the AFC East rival Bills (10-3) on Saturday night in a pivotal AFC East clash. Not only does this game hold significant playoff implications, but it provides Tagovailoa with a chance to change the minds of the football world.

Fair or not, Tagovailoa is knocked for his abilities in road games late in the season. Part of that can attributed to unique circumstances regarding cold weather, but many talking heads have the opinion that Tua can’t win when the pressure is at its peak.

In his three-year career, Tagovailoa is just 2-4 in road games coming in December and January. Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers saw one of his ugliest performances of the season, starting the game 3-of-17 passing.

Dolphins fans will look back to the 2021 season when the Dolphins went on the road in a must-win situation against the Tennessee Titans. Miami got boat raced to the tune of a 34-3 final, essentially eliminating the Dolphins from playoff contention.

A win on the road in what could turn out to be a snowy Buffalo with wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour would go a long way towards removing the dark cloud that hovers above Tagovailoa.

Not only that, but a win would give the Dolphins, who are on a two-game losing streak, a much-needed boost in confidence as the regular season winds down.

If Miami can execute its game plan on offense, the team might just stumble upon the blueprint to beating the Bills no matter what the forecast has in store.
