Reinforcements could soon be on the way for the Dolphins in a key spot after this week as team tries to weather their early-season storm
“Hang in there, baby!”
You’ve seen that motivational poster with the kitten hanging off the clothesline, right? It reads “hang in there, baby!” as the cat dangles from the line, suspended up off the ground.
The Miami Dolphins‘ offensive line is the kitten. And as we reach the start of Week 4 of the 2025 NFL regular season, that advice rings true. Hang in there, guys! The Dolphins’ offensive line has been besieged with injuries thus far in 2025 — a cruel punchline of a joke by the football gods after the Dolphins tried to get younger and more durable up front.
The team’s right side of the offensive line, James Daniels and Austin Jackson, lasted three plays and three quarters, respectively. Both went on injured reserve after Week 1. Both will be eligible for a return to play after Miami’s Week 5 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. But there’s some more potential support coming after the next 60 minutes of play.

Dolphins have two offensive linemen eligible to return to the 53-man roster after Monday night

We didn’t get a warm and fuzzy update from head coach Mike McDaniel regarding veteran offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg the last time he was asked. McDaniel stated that Eichenberg’s issue was “chronic” and that he would need more time to heal. Eichenberg has been on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list since the start of training camp at the end of July.
But offensive lineman Andrew Meyer, who is a second-year player who made Miami’s 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie last season, is also eligible for a return to action after Miami’s game on Monday night against the New York Jets. Meyer was placed on injured reserve during Miami’s 53-man roster cuts but was proactively designated to return. Any time after the end of Week 4, he can be tabbed for a return to action.
And, thanks to an update from C. Isaiah Smalls of the Miami Herald, it appears as though Meyer is making some sound progress. He’s no longer wearing the elbow brace he was spotted wearing at the end of summer after a strong initial start to training camp was cut short by injury.
Will Meyer be ready for an active roster return by Week 5? That’s for us to wait and see. But given the injuries to Jackson, Daniels, Eichenberg, and Meyer — getting one back sure would be a neat development for an offensive line that’s scrapping to keep its collective heads above water and protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Patrick Paul and Aaron Brewer are showing plenty of positive impact. Jonah Savaiinaea is playing like the rookie he is. And, of course, the right side is currently pieced together as the rest of the group mends.
Meyer could be first up. Then, hopefully and with a little luck, Jackson and Daniels could be in tow shortly thereafter.
