The Dolphins are reportedly looking to run it back with one of their best success stories of 2025
Run it back!
The focus around the Miami Dolphins‘ roster transactions has, to this point, been mainly focused on the talent going out the door.
But there are a number of talents from last year’s team who could very well serve as answers for the future of the Dolphins, too. Whether or not Miami’s new leadership can come to terms on new contracts before the start of the league year this upcoming week? That’s a different story all together. But it does sound like, per a comment from The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, that Miami is trying to do exactly that with several — including one of their best surprise success stories from 2025.
Dolphins reportedly trying to re-sign tight end Greg Dulcich
Dulcich came to life throughout the course of the second half of 2025. He was 10th among NFL tight ends in receiving yards from Week 12 until the end of the season — despite receiving only 20 total targets. He led tight ends in that period of time with yards per reception (13.7) and looked every bit like the former top-100 draft choice that the Denver Broncos made him back in 2022.
The former UCLA product is set to hit free agency in the same year as what is universally considered to be a strong tight end class in the NFL Draft. Will that help or hurt Dulcich’s market? Or will it help/hurt Miami’s appetite to try to work something out?
Per Jackson’s report, the Dolphins are at the very least trying. But the team tried to iron out adjusted contracts for names like Jason Sanders and Alec Ingold, too. Never was able to agree to terms and the duo of tenured Dolphins were released on Friday. If Miami is going to avoid a farewell with Dulcich, they’re running out of time. Free agency officially opens this upcoming Wednesday.
