The Miami Dolphins have seemed to possibly find a solution to their cornerback situation.
The Dolphins have signed veteran Eli Apple on a one-year deal, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.
This comes after Jalen Ramsey was carted off the field during training camp on Thursday after he went up to defend a pass against Tyreek Hill, but grabbed his left knee immediately after.
The cornerback then underwent knee surgery and had to have a full meniscus repair, which will delay him from returning until at least December.
Miami made a splash this offseason, elevating their defense by trading for Ramsey. However, Apple seems to be the quick solution with Ramsey now out for much of the season.
Apple is entering his eighth season in the league, most recently playing with the Cincinnati Bengals for two years. He has also had stints with the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, and Carolina Panthers.
With a lot of experience on defense, having a total of 308 tackles, 51 pass defended and five interceptions, Apple will provide Miami with the support they need in wake of Ramsey's injury.
