A new report offers clues on who the Dolphins’ main competition may be to finalize a Bradley Chubb trade deadline deal amid league interest
Bradley Chubb reportedly has interest on the trade deadline. Who is some of Miami’s competition to find a trade there?
The rumors around the NFL trade block are starting to pick up. For the Miami Dolphins, it was just a few years ago that the team was on the “buying’ end of the spectrum. Now, in 2025? It appears destined for the other side of the fence as a potential seller. Life comes at you fast in the NFL, and this Dolphins build feels like it came and went in a flash — even if it’s been six and a half years.
Part of selling at the deadline stems from your team’s success or, more specifically, the lack thereof. Miami’s on track there at 1-4. But some other complicating factors are in place for the Dolphins, including whether those in charge of the football operation are looking to sell amid pressure to win.
One other piece of this puzzle is what other talent is available elsewhere. And that’s where a Saturday report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network should have your attention. We have some new clues to who Miami’s competition could be in a bid to trade Bradley Chubb this fall. Chubb, per the report, is getting interest, but he’s not alone among veteran pass rushers.
NFL Network report reveals some of Miami’s potential competition if they’re serious about trading Bradley Chubb

“Among the edge players who have garnered interest are the Titans’ Arden Key, the Dolphins’ Bradley Chubb, and the Packers’ Kingsley Enagbare.”
— NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo
The Titans should certainly be considered potential sellers, as they’ve been charged with an equally challenging start to the season as Miami. And it should be noted that Tennessee lacks one of the challenges Miami must reconcile — the Titans changed general managers this offseason, and as such would likely feel much more empowered to embrace trade changes because he’s not sitting on the same hot seat Chris Grier finds himself on in Miami. Tennessee, for what it is worth, has already traded a promising young corner who was drafted by the previous general manager.
Chubb is a more accomplished player than either Key or Enagbare, which should work in the Dolphins’ favor for having a market. By the sounds of it, the market may not be the problem.
2025 NFL in-season trades so far
- Cleveland and Jacksonville traded cornerbacks Greg Newsome II and Tyson Campbell, along with a swap of draft picks
- Cleveland traded QB Joe Flacco to Cincinnati as part of a Day 3 pick swap
- Baltimore shipped former first-round pick DE Odafe Oweh to the Los Angeles Chargers for SAF Alohi Gilman and a pick swap
- Houston traded OT Cam Robinson to Cleveland as part of a Day 3 pick swap
- Tennessee traded CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr. to New York (Jets) as part of a Day 3 pick swap
The other notable part of the NFL Network report, other than verifying Chubb as a name with interest across the league, is the number of teams that appear to have eyes set on pass-rush help.
Per the report, Jacksonville, San Francisco, and Philadelphia were all mentioned as possible buyers on the defensive line. That should only further help Miami’s opportunities to find the right trade partner for Chubb. The supply is there. The demand is there. An extra loss or two could and should affirm to the Dolphins that this slow start is, unfortunately, who they are in 2025.
And when that truth sets in, you’d be wise to accept it and act accordingly. If you don’t, you may wake up ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline and find all your suitors have found other answers. If that happens, we now have a pretty good idea of what other names across the league could have skipped the line and beat Miami to the punch.
