The Miami Dolphins' 2025 schedule is officially out, and the team now knows who, when, and where they will take on their slate of opponents this fall.

From the Dolphins' multiple prime time games to their trip to Madrid as the "host" team in the first ever game in Spain, there's plenty to go over.

Biggest games on the Dolphins' 2025 schedule

Dolphins vs. Bills x2: This one speaks for itself.  Aside from a narrow home win over Buffalo in 2022, the Bills have kicked the Dolphins' teeth down their throats for years. Is this Miami team any closer to catching up with the Bills atop the AFC East? This game is always the litmus test, one that's not gone Miami's way.

Dolphins vs. Ravens: The Dolphins have the unfortunate luck of playing two Thursday Night Football games this year, and not just against anyone but two of the best teams in the NFL in the Bills and Ravens.  Their week 9 game against Baltimore on a short week at home will provide another test as to how far away the Dolphins are from true AFC contenders.

Dolphins vs. Commanders: The Dolphins will have the eyes of the world on them in the league's first-ever game in Spain.  But it's more than just a novelty; Jayden Daniels and the explosive Washington offense will offer Miami's defense one of their sternest tests of the year.

Revenge games on the Dolphins' 2025 schedule

Dolphins at Colts: This is a game from 2024 that, had the Dolphins won, they would have controlled their playoff destiny and perhaps wouldn't have laid an egg in the finale against the Jets and ultimately made the playoffs.  Instead, sans Tua Tagovailoa, lost to Colts 16-10, which was the ultimate roadblock to their path to the postseason.

Dolphins vs. Jets: Miami held a slim chance at making the playoff, needing to beat New York and have the Broncos to lose to the Chiefs in Week 18. When it became crystal clear the Chiefs were going to get waxed, Miami themselves got handled convincingly in the second half against the Jets, falling 32-20. Miami has made a living in recent years beating New York, and to get back to the playoffs in 2025, they'll need to do it again.

Dolphins vs. Bills x2: This one doesn't really need explaining, does it? The Bills have crushed the Dolphins' seasons for years.  Getting one over on Josh Allen after all that disappointment would be huge for the franchise.

Five must-watch matchups

Josh Allen vs. Miami's defense: it's a crucial matchup for Miami each year, but it's not one that Dolphins fans have wanted to watch recently.

Lamar Jackson vs. Miami's linebackers: another matchup that, unless the Dolphins improve their cornerback room greatly in the next three months, Miami fans probably won't be too happy to see. Miami's linebackers in particular will be put to the ultimate test by Jackson's arm and legs.

Stefon Diggs vs. Miami's cornerbacks: the Dolphins have been torched by Diggs in recent years with the Bills, but now he'll have a lesser roster around him, along with Drake Maye throwing him the ball in New England.  How does Miami's ragtag secondary hold up early in the season against the Maye-Diggs connection?  If it's poorly, then things are really going to get bad for Miami's defense in 2025.

Miami's deep passing game vs. Carolina's secondary: this isn't a sexy matchup, but it's one where, perhaps, finally, the Dolphins can get their deep passing game back on track in a big way after having a terrible time pushing the ball deep downfield in 2024. The Panthers allowed the third most yards per attempt last year and the highest opposer passer rating.  If Miami can't push it in Week 5 against the Panthers, then that's a bad sign.

Miami DT Kenneth Grant vs. Indianapolis G Quenton Nelson: Nelson is one of the best in the business, so the Dolphins' first round pick is going to get a baptism by fire any time he locks up with the Colts' All-Pro in the season opener.
