Five bold predictions for the remainder of the Miami Dolphins' season

The Miami Dolphins are in a good position as they head into their bye week, sitting atop the AFC East at 6-3. It's been a wild first half, with the Dolphins reaching 70 points against the Broncos and De'Von Achane running like a video game player through opposing defenses.
However, there are still a lot of wild and/or memorable things that could still happen in the second half of the season. Here are five I could see happen.
1) Both Raheem Mostert and Achane will eclipse the 1000-yard rushing mark, becoming the first Miami running backs to do it since 2016.
Miami has a good problem on its hands. It has two running backs who would be the starter on the majority of teams in the NFL. It's also been a split the team has managed well. Mostert sits at 605 rushing yards after 9 games, and Achane with 460. Achane's 12.1 yards per carry isn't sustainable, but I still think he will get enough big runs and overall usage to reach 1000.
2) Mostert reaches 20 touchdowns from scrimmage.
Speaking of marks for Miami's running backs, Mostert should reach this ridiculous mark absent injury. He has 11 rushing touchdowns and 2 receiving scores through 9 games. As such, he's on pace to surpass it, and the game coming up against the Raiders provides a possibility he reaches the end zone more than once.
3) Jevon Holland becomes a first-team All-Pro selection.
Holland is the Dolphins' highest rated defensive player by Pro Football Focus at 90.0. His coverage grade of 89.4 is second among all safeties. While he lacks the splashy interceptions and slobber-knocking highlight hits, he's playing as well as anyone in the NFL right now. With the Dolphins being a team that's gotten a lot of attention this year for its offense, here's hoping (and believing) that the defense – and specifically Holland – has also gotten enough credit to where the Dolphins' star safety gets his proper due this year.
4) The Dolphins defeat the Buffalo Bills in week 18 to win the AFC East for the first time since 2008.
The Bills aren't going away, despite being 5-4 and struggling offensively lately. They are simply too talented. However, the Dolphins have been outstanding at home this season, and they will be again when they have to defend their home turf to take the division.
It might not be the high-flying offensive affair that some likely think it will be, but the Dolphins will eek out a close win to claim the division and earn a home playoff game.
5) The Dolphins win a road playoff game after the Wild Card round.
Call this a belief this team is going to take a big step forward when they get fully healthy. The Dolphins didn't make any moves at the deadline because they didn't need to. Their main shortcoming – a battered and bruised offensive line – will reinforce itself when it gets its regular starters back. The return of Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard to the field has helped fortify a Dolphins defense that looked very good against Kansas City in Germany.
The Dolphins also have seen what it takes to win in hostile environments, having been battle tested against the toughest teams in the league. With the exception of the implosion against Buffalo, the Dolphins have played competitive football on the road, with the Philadelphia game being adversely affected by some very suspect officiating.
Miami's taken the league's best punches so far this year, and I have a feeling it's made them better for it. They'll be ready for whatever comes in January.
