The Miami Dolphins were hit with a dose of bad news on Tuesday following the team's 28-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Center Conner Williams is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Mike McDaniel met with the media on Tuesday and confirmed the starter's injury status.
Williams went down in the first quarter after a Titans defender rolled into his leg. He reappeared not long after going to the locker room in street clothes and a knee brace.
In his stead, Liam Eichenberg struggled mightily. His snap to Tua on his first drive of the game from the Titans' 3-yard line was short and resulted in a lost fumble. He was also flagged three times, with two accepted penalties against him for holding and a false start.
Miami has suffered a rash of injuries on its offensive line this season, but it has been able to get solid play from backups to help overcome those injuries. Williams has missed time this season as well with a nagging groin injury, and his loss was felt each time.
Now, the Dolphins will have to find a way to not just get by for a short period of time, but try to finish out the remainder of a daunting regular season slate and then the playoffs without one of its offensive anchors.
