An Emmanual Ogbah reunion could be in the works for the Miami Dolphins.
According to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, the Dolphins are bringing in DE Emmanuel Obgah for a workout on Monday.
Ogbah is a very logical choice for the Dolphins to pursue, as they look to replace the loss of Shaquil Barrett, who announced his retirement on Saturday.
Ogbah originally joined the Dolphins in March 2000 on a two-year contract after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs. After leading the Dolphins in sacks in back-to-back seasons (nine each year) in 2020 and 2021, he signed a major extension in March 2022 to the tune of 4 years and $65 million.
Ogbah was released by the Dolphins back in February as a cost cutting move. Up against the salary cap, the move saved the Dolphins over $13 million.
With Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, and Cameron Goode all recovering from serious late-season lower body injuries and heading to the pre-training camp PUP list, Miami is between a rock and a hard place as far as having experienced edge rushers after Barrett's retirement.
As such, a South Florida reunion between free agent Ogbah and his old team could make a lot of sense for both sides.
