One of the Miami Dolphins' worst loss from 2023 generated a specific controversy, one which appears to see a change coming for the better.

In the Dolphins' 48-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills back on October 1, Miami was torched by the Josh Allen to Stefon Diggs connection to the tune of 6 catches for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Allen was nearly perfect, completing 21 of 25 throws for 320 yards and 4 touchdowns.

After the game, Xavien Howard expressed frustration about not being allowed to shadow Diggs, something he's done before during his career.

Now, it appears that might be about to change with Miami's number one corner Jalen Ramsey.  Ramsey met with the media on Wednesday, and he indicated he'll be shadowing top wideouts in defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver's defense this fall.

"Those are things that I've done through my whole career except last year," Ramsey said.  "Last year was the only time I didn't follow.  I only stayed on one side of the field.  So, last year was kind of a different year for me rather than this being different.  This is back to what I do.  Back to where I thrive and make an impact and have a lot of fun playing the game."

Ramsey has been the best cornerback on any team he's played for, and as such has plenty of experience shadowing opposing top wideouts over the years.  The fifth overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2016, Ramsey had his best seasons in 2017 with the Jags and 2020-21 with the Los Angeles Rams.  He earned first team All-Pro those three seasons and helped the Rams claim their first Super Bowl title in Los Angeles in 2021.

Now, it sounds like the handcuffs from Vic Fangio's defense are about to come off, and Ramsey will be free to play beyond just half of the field.  And it sounds like that suits Ramsey just fine.
