It appears the Miami Dolphins' three-headed monster will be at full strength on Sunday in a key road tilt for the team against the Indianapolis Colts.
According to Miami Herald Dolphins beat writer Barry Jackson, De'Von Achane has cleared concussion protocol and is good to go for Sunday afternoon.
Achane suffered a concussion in the first half of the Dolphins' 15-10 win over New England back in Week 5. He took a shot to the side of the helmet, and when he went to the ground, his head bounced off the ground violently. He left the game and did not return.
In his place, rookie Jaylen Wright led the way for Miami with 86 yards in 13 carries, looking fast and decisive with the ball in his hands. Raheem Mostert also ran well, returning from a chest injury that kept him out for multiple weeks. He totaled 80 yards on 19 attempts.
Now, the Dolphins will have all three runners at their disposal against Indianapolis. Given how much the Dolphins relied on the ground game last time out to win, and given the Dolphins' passing game will be hamstrung again without Tua Tagovailoa for at least one more week (and quite possibly longer), having as much firepower available on the ground is crucial for Miami on Sunday.
We'll see if the Dolphins can replicate their success from their last game on the ground – where they totaled 193 rushing yards against the Patriots – against a Colts defense that ranks near the bottom of the NFL in rush defense.
